Jordan Clark, born in Louisville, Kentucky, was first taken to see the circus by his grandparents. From there, a fascination of the circus and its characters began to grow. The circus was a place where Jordan’s childlike imagination could manifest into a tangible experience.
After training on his own in high school, Jordan began his formal circus training in 2006 at the National Circus School of Montreal’s summer program. He was later accepted into the school’s prestigious college program where he completed his training in 2012. Jordan has performed his hand balancing act in over 20 counties as well as at sea.
Jordan is excited to be back in his hometown and see the circus community growing here. He regularly performs with CirqueLouis at events around the city and played the role of Oberon in A Midsummer Night’s Circus (2016). He looks forward to continuing to share the magic of circus with this city.
Cedric began his Aerial training in 2015 at Suspend after deciding to make a change from swimming to circus. He has performed in 2 of Suspend’s student shows, Winter Showcase 2015 and Spring Showcase 2016. Scouted while taking private lessons at Turners Circus, he landed a role in his first CirqueLouis production where he takes to the air as a Falcon in Pinocchio (2016). In addition to being a circus artist, Cedric is a sophomore at Manual High School and enjoys mathematics, physics and piano.
Marcalley is an Aerialist, Acrobat and Dancer who is performing with CirqueLouis for the first time in Pinocchio’s lead role. She appeared in Turners Circus Bootleg (2016) in Lyra, Trampoline, and Acro. She has danced classical ballet and modern since the age of three and attended The Harid Conservatory from ages 13-15. Some of her more memorable roles in The Nutcracker include Spanish, Mirliton, Chinese, and Jockey. In her free time, Marcalley enjoys playing guitar and singing for her family and friends.
President and Founder of CirqueLouis
Born fourth into a performing family, Lynley has spent her whole life involved in the circus. She first became part of Turners Circus as an infant, and in 2008 stepped in as Circus Director. Through her leadership and vision, she helped initiate the transformation of the over 65 year old program into the year round training and performance entity that it is today.
Lynley has been instrumental in bringing new apparatus into Turners Circus, as she did in 2008 with the introduction of Silks and in 2014 with the creation of Chadelyra, increasing her own 30+ year repertoire of Static, Flying and Triple Trapeze, Casting, Lyra, Teeterboard, Swinging Ladders, Cradle, Spanish Webs, Adagio and Acro-Balance.
In May of 2015 she joined forces with her former cheer partner and Trapeze/Chandelyra doubles partner, Abbie Springer, and Turners Circus Artistic Director, Christine Moondancer, to form CirqueLouis in order to continue challenging the status quo by supporting new ideas, acts and concepts within the Louisville circus arts community.
Ryan Fisher (not pictured)
Ryan moved from Richmond, VA to Louisville, KY in 2011 to pursue his dream of becoming a National Champion Competitive Cheerleader. After cheering for 3 years, he won a silver medal at the cheerleading World Championships. Participating in UofL’s Power Tumbling team and winning College Nationals in 2014 & 2015, Ryan decided to retire as an athlete and focus on coaching. He is excited to perform with CirqueLouis in Pinocchio (2016), demonstrating some of the skills he nearly killed himself obtaining!
Katrina Kaufman (not pictured)
Katrina is an Aerialist and aspiring Acro-Balancer. She performed as a Clown on Silks in CirqueLouis’ A MidSummer Night’s Circus (2016), and appeared on Silks, Webs, and Lyra in Turners Circus Bootleg (2016). When she is not involved in the circus arts, Katrina spends time with her husband and two dogs, supporting the wellbeing and resilience of the UofL community, or hitting the stage for a bodybuilding competition. She loves engaging in activities that help her vibrate at her highest frequency.
Terri is a passionate Aerialist and instructor who has trained throughout the US since 2010. Her specialties include Corde Lisse/Spanish Webs, Static Trapeze, Silks and Lyra. Terri has performed with CirqueLouis at city wide events and in Bootleg “Untapped” (2015) and A Midsummer Night’s Circus (2016). Terri is the owner of XALT, an aerial company which strives to inspire others to live their physical and mental potential and author of Be Your Best Self, A Holistic Plan for Emotional Wellness.
Cindy Law began her circus career in 2010 at Turners Circus. She performs regularly with both Turners Circus and CirqueLouis in their theatrical productions and community events. Cindy performed on Silks in CirqueLouis’ Bootleg “Untapped” (2015) and on Chandelyra and Trapeze as Helena in A Midsummer Night’s Circus (2016). Cindy has been an aerial instructor ever since she fell in love with the circus arts and feels lucky to have her whole family follow in her passion, performing alongside her children.
Lee is a Juggler and circus enthusiast who is one of CirqueLouis’ most consummate and active performers. He is a regular fixture at CirqueLouis’ city wide events and productions, playing a Vaudeville star in Bootleg “Untapped” (2015) and Puck in A Midsummer Night’s Circus (2016). In addition to performing, Lee is also an instructor for CirqueLouis’ educational outreach and Social Circus program, CirqueCompassion. Beyond circus, Lee enjoys food, good conversation, kindness, and cheesy sci-fi.
Jessica has been training in aerial arts for nearly three years. She began her journey at Turners Circus, where she is still currently an instructor. She joined CirqueLouis shortly after its inception as the Program Director and last December she was promoted to Executive Director.
Jessica trains on Silks, Aerial Rope, Lyra, Static Trapeze, Aerial Anchor, and also practices partner Acro-Balancing, Fire Arts, and Stilt Walking. She performed fire in CirqueLouis’ debut production Bootleg Untapped (2015), and was part of the Gypsy clowning troupe in A Midsummer Night’s Circus (2016), where she exemplified her partner work in both Acro-Balancing and on Silks.
Jessica’s true passion lies with serving others, and she has spearheaded the formation of Louisville’s first social circus program – CirqueLouis’ CirqueCompassion. Jessica works with CirqueLouis’ social outreach and education branches, taking circus arts into schools and into the Louisville community as a way to transform lives. When Jessica is not participating in her many Circus activities, she is likely to be found outside gardening or reading.
Elka is an Aerialst, Stiltwalker, Unicyclist and Dancer who performs regularly with CirqueLouis at events and appearances throughout the community. She appeared on Trapeze in Bootleg “Untapped” (2015) and Hammock and Lyra in A Midsummer Night’s Circus (2016). She has also performed annually with Turners Circus since 2010 and dances with Fleur de Lis. When she is not walking 8 1/2 feet above crowds at city wide events, Elka is most likely to be found painting, drawing, dancing, or playing the ukelele.
Emma Proietti is an Aerialist who has been training in circus arts since 2012 when she began performing with Turners Circus. Her favorite apparatus’ are Silks and Ladders which she performs each year in their spring production. Emma also performs on Spanish Webs, Lyra and Triple Trapeze. She took the stage with CirqueLouis for the first time in A Midsummer Night’s Circus (2016). Outside of the circus, she participates in environmental activism and enjoys playing the banjo and watching sappy movies.
Ella is a Dancer as well as an Aerialist who appeared in her first circus production last summer playing Cobweb in CirqueLouis’ A Midsummer Night’s Circus (2016). She is a former student of the Louisville Ballet School who currently dances with Louisville Dance Alliance. She has been training in aerials with Turners Circus since 2015 and will perform in their annual spring production, Stagecoach (2017). Besides loving the stage, Ella loves spending time with friends and family including her four siblings.
Emily Price (not pictured)
Emily is a Dancer and Aerialist who most recently appeared as Titania in CirqueLouis’ A Midsummer Night’s Circus (2016). She is also the Dance Choreographer/Instructor for this spring’s Turners Circus, Stagecoach (2017). Aside from hanging from the gym ceiling or working in the dance studio, Emily’s other loves include practicing yoga, raising five children with her supportive husband and helping people buy and sell property through her real estate company, The Price Group at Keller Williams.
Lily is an Aerialist and Dancer who appeared last summer in her first circus production on Hammock as Moth in CirqueLouis’ A Midsummer Night’s Circus (2016). She will perform in her first Turners Circus show next spring in Stagecoach (2017). Lily is also currently dancing with Louisville Dance Alliance, and is excited to incorporate all she has learned playing a Marionette in Pinocchio (2016). Aside from hanging high in the sky or leaping through the air, Lily loves spending time with her family and friends.
Leighann is an Aerialist who regularly performs with both CirqueLouis and Turners Circus. She appeared as a smuggler on Webs in CirqueLouis’ Bootleg “Untapped” (2015) and as a Big Top Performer on Webs and Lady-in-Waiting on Silks in A Midsummer Night’s Circus (2016). She is a former gymnast who has been performing since a very young age, including Turners Circus annual production since 1978. When not in the air, Leighann enjoys reading and spending time with her family and friends.
Alyssa is thrilled to be involved in her second CirqueLouis production. She formerly appeared in a comedic role in Bootleg “Untapped” (2015). Beginning gymnastics at age 9, Alyssa has been performing with Turners Circus since 1996 and specializes in Silks, Spanish Webs, Lyra and Static Trapeze and loves every opportunity to do her favorite thing in the world on stage. When she is not “circusing” she loves her “Big Girl Job” at Sacred Heart Academy and spending time with her husband and 2 children.
Dean’s circus talents include Bottle Flair, Magic, Juggling, Comedy, Improv and Acting. He has traveled all over North America and the Caribbean competing, teaching and training magic and juggling to the hospitality industry. He has participated in Turners Circus annual production since 2013 and performers for CirqueLouis at events throughout the community. Dean also appeared as Jimmy D in CirqueLouis’ Bootleg “Untapped” (2015) and Nick Bottom in A Midsummer Night’s Circus (2016).
Megan is an Aerialist training and performing on Silks, Chains, Lyra, Ladders and Static Trapeze. She has appeared in Turners Circus annual spring production since 2013 and CirqueLouis’ Bootleg “Untapped” (2015) as a Barbershop Dancer and comedic Dress Shop Assistant. After recovering from 2 injuries, Megan is excited to be back in the air in Pinocchio (2016), performing as a Blackbird on Silks. When she is not flying high, Megan enjoys singing and dreaming about inspiring others.
Maddie is a Dancer turned Aerialist whose background and love for performance led her to join the circus. She began her aerial training in 2015 to fulfill a role in MAGIC’S Nutcracker in a Nutshell and first joined CirqueLouis for Bootleg “Untapped” (2015) when there was a call out for Tap Dancers. When Maddie is not studying as an undergraduate student at UofL, she teaches dance at Gillman’s Dance Academy, choreographs for their competitive team, and works with M.A.G.I.C Dance Company.
Laura specializes in Aerial Silks and Spanish Web, and recently added Fire-Eating to her repertoire. She has performed with CirqueLouis at many local events as well as appearing on Silks in Bootleg “Untapped” (2015) and Spanish Webs and Silks in A Midsummer Night’s Circus (2016). When not practicing or teaching aerials arts, Laura is usually involved in outdoor activities or piloting herself around Kentucky’s airports. Laura has a hard time keeping her feet on the ground!
Todd is an Acro-Balancer who performs with both CirqueLouis and Turners Circus. He is a coach for Turners Circus annual spring show and instructs Acro intensives for CirqueLouis. In addition to Acro-Balancing, Todd is a catcher for Casting and Cradle. Todd performed in CirqueLouis’ A Midsummer Night’s Circus (2016) and in addition to Acro-Balancing, will be spinning Webs for his wife in Pinocchio (2016). A father of three children, Todd enjoys bowling and weight training during his time away from circus.
Vicky is an Aerialist and Acrobat and will be performing Spanish Web in Pinocchio (2016). She has performed Acro-Balancing, Silks and Straps during previous CirqueLouis shows. Vicky is a veteran performer, coach, and instructor for Turners Circus and also teaches workshops for CirqueLouis. Vicky regularly performs and coaches with husband Todd, who is also a member of the CirqueLouis company. In her spare time, she enjoys family time with her three children, running, and weight training.
Founder and Treasurer of CirqueLouis
Growing up in Kansas City, Mo, Abbie moved to Louisville to compete with the nationally ranked University of Louisville cheerleading squad and in 2009, she began her circus arts training. Abbie has trained extensively in doubles acts and apparatus (Acro, Adagio, Trapeze, Chandelyra, and Sphere). She has trained on Silks, Aerial Rope and Lyra through NECCA (New England Center for Circus Arts).
Abbie has appeared with her family in the annual Turners Circus spring production since 2009 and she has performed in CirqueLouis’ previous productions, Bootleg “Untapped” (2015) and A Midsummer Night’s Circus (2016). Abbie is also a part of CirqueLouis’ event performance troupe appearing at prestigious venues all over the city
Founding CirqueLouis in 2015 has been part of her calling to share the circus arts with the Louisville community and Abbie believes fiercely in CirqueLouis’ vision of creating a strong circus arts community here in Louisville through contemporary circus theater, high level training and social circus outreach. Abbie’s other passion lies with spending time with her husband Adam and her three children Annabelle, Aeson, and Abram.
Jordan is an Aerialist who started training and performing with Turners Circus while in elementary school. She has been involved in Turners Circus productions as a performer since … and instructor since… Jordan appeared in Cirquelouis’ debut performance, Bootleg “Untapped” (2015) on both Lyra and Spanish Web and as a Big Top performer on Webs and Wedding Officiator on Lyra in A Midsummer Night’s Circus. Outside of the gym, Jordan loves to spend time with her husband and three dogs.
As a dancer, Carter has been performing since the age of four. She has lived in both Louisville and Chicago and trained in various dance styles, including Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Pom, Lyrical, and Modern. Carter was introduced to her first aerial apparatus in 2012, Pole. She fell in love with aerial arts, taking her first class at Louisville Turners in the summer of 2013.
Since then, Carter has performed on Silks, Pole, Aerial Pole, Lyra, Spanish Web, Hammock, and Ladders with Turners Circus, Suspend Louisville, and CirqueLouis. She performed on Pole in CirqueLouis’ debut production of Bootleg “Untapped” (2015) and on Aerial Pole in A Midsummer Night’s Circus (2016).
Carter has participated in multiple non-profit organizations and boards across Louisville and has a passion for promotions and branding. She joined CirqueLouis as the Marketing and PR Director in January, 2016 as a perfect hybrid of her loves of circus and volunteerism. Outside of circus, you can find Carter working as a Management Consultant and an Adjunct Professor or spending time with her husband, Mike, while traveling on outdoor adventures.
Corps de Cirque
Jasmine is an Aerialist, Hooper, and amateur Juggler who has been training with Turners Circus since January 2016. She recently performed double Lyra in Turners Circus Revue Fright and will appear on Silks and Lyra in their spring production, Stagecoach (2017). Pinocchio (2016) is Jasmine’s first performance with CirqueLouis. Her non-circus related hobbies include giving her pets more attention than they give her, traveling, and binge watching “How I Met Your Mother”.
Terri was first introduced to circus arts when her daughter wanted to fly. Seeing all the fun her daughter was having, Terri joined in! Beginning as a Fire Eater with Turners Circus, she eventually found her true calling; goofing around on stage! She has trained with the NY Goofs and appeared as a Teetotaler turned Flapper in CirqueLouis’ Bootleg “Untapped” (2015). Off stage, Terri enjoys building props and costumes and even shares a few sound effects for both Turners Circus and CirqueLouis productions.
Cassie is a Juggler and Aerialist who frequently performs with both CirqueLouis and Turners Circus. She played a Teetotaler turned Flapper and Peter Quince on comedy Silks in A Midsummer Night’s Circus (2016). Cassie shares a love of movement and circus arts with her daughter and when not working on her circus skills she can be found with her fellow military vets rehearsing lines for Kentucky Shakespeare with Veterans or teaching movement and games to children at the Waldorf School of Louisville.
Lauren is an Aerialist and Dancer trained in Middle Eastern and Indian Dance who frequently performs with both CirqueLouis and Turners Circus. She began her aerial training at Turners in 2014 and co-produces Turners Circus’ popular Student Revues.
Fire Dancing with candles, Lauren debuted as a performer for CiqueLouis in Bootleg “Untapped” (2015). Outside of the circus, Lauren teaches high school English and enjoys weight training, cooking, reading, and cuddling with her husband and fur babies.
Katie began her circus arts training with Turners Circus 2016 spring production Bootleg. She was scouted for CirqueLouis because of her infectiously adorable personality and dynamic stage presence and appeared to rave reviews in CirqueLouis’ A Midsummer Night’s Circus (2016). As the youngest performer with CirqueLouis, she is thrilled to be among such an amazing cast. Katie can always be found with a dance in her step, a song on her lips, and a cartwheel bursting to get out.
Traveling the US for the past 3 years, Katrina has performed, taught, and spread the flow art of Fan and Hoop Dance, winning awards for Top Fan Inspiration for Fire Arts Magazine (2014), Flow Arts Institute Instructor of the Month (August 2015), Nominee for Flow Arts Institute Instructor of the Year (2015), and performed in Flow Show Chicago (2015). Settling back home in Louisville, she has joined CirqueLouis to expand her other skills of character building, costuming, hair and makeup design and performance.
Lucy is an Aerialist and Acrobat who has been training in circus arts for over 5 years. She has appeared in Turners Circus annual spring productions Enchanted Forest (2012), Big Top (2013), Shipwrecked (2014), Checkmate (2015), Bootleg (2016), and debuted with CirqueLouis in A Midsummer Night Circus (2016). She spends as much time as possible working on her circus arts and will be adding Acro-Balancing to her Aerial work in Pinocchio (2016). Lucy attends South Oldham Middle School.
Lily is a Tumbler and Acrobat and has been perfecting her skills for 7 1/2 years. She trains and is an Assistant Instructor for Beginner and Intermediate level classes at Ellen’s School of Dance. Lily had a successful audition for CirqueLouis and will soon be adding “Aerialist” to her accomplishments as she prepares for her role in Pinocchio (2016), which is her first circus production. Outside of tumbling and circus, Lily enjoys playing the ukulele and powderpuff football.
Laila is an Aerialist, Acrobat and Dancer who has joined CirqueLouis for Pinocchio (2016). She has been performing with Turners Circus for 4 years including Shipwrecked (2014), Checkmate (2015), Bootleg (2016) and will perform in Stagecoach (2017). Laila comes from 3rd generation circus following her father and grandfather. She loves performing on the Lyra and Silks and also enjoys Acro. When Laila is not involved in circus activities, she can be found on the field hockey field or playing her violin.
Lennon is a Flow Artist with a habit of setting his Poi on fire! He first became involved with circus arts in 2010, spinning and performing on Cradle and Acro-Balance with Turners Circus. He also appeared in acting roles in Shipwrecked (2014) and Checkmate (2015). Lennon performs with CirqueLouis at events and was Philostrate in A Midsummer Night’s Circus (2016). When he is not delivering a fiery display, he may be found studying at Purdue University, or crafting unique keepsakes for friends and family.
Maerose is an Aerialist and Acrobat who has been studying circus arts since 2011 and is a regular performer in Turners Circus Revues and annual spring productions. Her preferred apparatus is Static Trapeze, but performs on a variety of aerials. Pinocchio (2016) is her second appearance with CirqueLouis on the Carousel. Maerose also performed in A Midsummer Night’s Circus (2016) at the Iroquois Amphitheater. When not engaged in circus arts, Maerose is working on enhancing her inner scientist.
Amy is an Aerialist, Fire Artist, Clown and Graphic Designer who performs regularly with both Turners Circus and CirqueLouis. She loves to spin a flaming umbrella at CirqueLouis’ city wide events and appeared as a Fire-Eating Flapper in CirqeuLouis’ Bootleg “Untapped” (2015) and an Aerial Clown in A Midsummer Night’s Circus (2016). Amy also provides the graphic design work for CirqueLouis’ posters, programs and images. When she is not performing, Amy is a wife and homeschooling mom of four.
Elliot is an Acrobat who likes walking tall! He ran away with the circus in 2010 and fell in love with Stilt Walking in 2014. Elliot regularly appears in Turners Circus annual spring productions and performed on Acro Stilts in CirqueLouis’ A Midsummer Night’s Circus (2016). He enjoys and performs not only Stilt Walking, but also Acro-Balancing and tumbling on Trampoline. Even outside of circus, Elliot is no stranger to the stage as he regularly performs with The Peacock Children’s Theatre in Corydon IN.
Ezra is an Aerialist, Acrobat, Stilt Walker and Unicyclist who enjoys performing with both Turners Circus and CirqueLouis. He began his circus arts training in 2010, falling in love with ground acts and aerials alike. He joined his mother in Turners Circus’ first mother/son Ladders performance in Bootleg (2016)and performed with CirqueLouis in Bootleg “Untapped” (2015) and A Midsummer Night’s Circus (2016). When he is not involved with the circus, he is on stage with The Peacock Children’s Theatre.
Lucia’s circus adventure began in 2010 when she walked the “tightrope” for Turners Circus at the age of 2. She has since discovered a love for hanging upside down on the Trapeze and balancing across the stage on the Walking Globe. Lucia debuted with CirqueLouis in the Children’s Scene in Bootleg “Untapped” (2015) and appeared as Tatiana’s attendant in A Midsummer Night’s Circus (2016). She loves to dress up and perform with CirqueLouis, Turners Circus and The Peacock Children’s Theatre.
Samantha is a self-taught hula hooper who joined CirqueLouis last year just in time to perform in A Midsummer Night’s Circus (2016) at the Iroquois Amphitheater. She continues to perform at CirqueLouis events around town and brings her talent to the stage again as a hooper in Pinocchio (2016). Not only does Samantha perform, but she also makes her own hoops! When she isn’t spinning circles or juggling her five different jobs, Samantha enjoys practicing yoga, writing, making artwork, and exploring nature.
A regular circus performer since age 3, Annabelle is a Ball Walker, Acro-Balancer and budding Aerialist who performs with both CirqueLouis and Turners Circus. She has appeared in both of CirqueLouis’ previous productions, Bootleg “Untapped” (2015) in the Children’s Scene and as a Ball Walker in A Midsummer Night’s Circus (2016). When not balancing on circus props, Annabelle devours books and loves challenging herself with computer and math skills.
Olivia is a Contortionist and Aerialist who is performing with CirqueLouis for the second time in Pinocchio (2016). She regularly trains in aerials at Turners Circus. Olivia previously performed in the opening act as an Amazon Warrior in CirqueLouis’ A Midsummer’s Night Circus (2016) at the Iroquois Amphitheater last summer and graces the stage once again performing as the Gorilla Judge who sentences Pinocchio to time in prison! When she is not in the air, Olivia loves horseback riding.
Gretchen is an Aerialist and Acrobat who performs regularly with Turners Circus and has appeared in both CirqueLouis’ productions. She expanded her repertoire by Clowning as a flapper in Bootleg “Untapped” (2015) and a gypsy in A Midsummer Night’s Circus (2016). Gretchen instructs aerials at Turners Circus where she regularly trains and performs with her family. When not appearing at circus events, she can be found working as an Information Analyst or spending time with her husband and triplets.
Hannah is an Aerialist, Acrobat, and Ball Walker who appeared in the Children’s Scene in CirqueLouis’ Bootleg “Untapped” (2015) and as a Ball Walker in A Midsummer Night’s Circus (2016). Hannah regularly trains at Turners Circus and performs in their Showcases and annual spring productions along with her mom and siblings. When Hannah is not performing or appearing at events for CirqueLouis or Turners Circus, Hannah can be found singing in her school’s choir or hanging out with friends.
Zach is an Aerialist and Acrobat appearing for the first time with CirqueLouis in Pinocchio (2016). He regularly trains at Turners Circus and performs on Perch, Merry-Go-Round, and Mini-Trampoline in their annual spring production including Checkmate (2015) and Bootleg (2006). He has also performed in Turners Circus Revues and enjoys community appearances with CirqueLoius and Turners Circus. Zach is an avid gamer with dreams of someday writing his own gaming software.
Cynthia Phillips Wolf
Cindi was bitten by the Circus Bug in the 1970’s when her children joined Turners Circus. Over the next 40+ years her husband and all 7 children got involved, while she worked as Circus Director. Cindi has performed with 4 daughters and a granddaughter on Swinging Ladders and she continues her commitment to circus through performance and Fire-Eating instruction. Cindi appeared in CirqueLouis’ Bootleg “Untapped” (2015) as a Teetotaler turned Flapper and as Egeus in A Midsummer Night’s Circus (2016).
Anita is an Aerialist who also enjoys Clowning and Acting in CirqueTheatre productions. She performed on Pole and Pole Silks in Turners Circus’ Checkmate (2015) and appeared as “Neets” and on Lyra in Turners Circus’ Bootleg (2016). In addition, she has performed at several of Turners Circus Revues. Anita hit the stage with CirqueLouis for the first time as a Bootlegger in Bootleg “Untapped” (2015). She enjoys spending time with her 14 year old daughter, is an avid history buff, and loves to live life to its fullest.
